November Project Art

The November Project Art kit from Cocoa Daisy contains two sets of wonderful Faber-Castell Pitt Artist pens and also some fun feathers, tags and cards, to use in your art journaling.

I have a post up at the Cocoa Daisy blog, with lots of step-by-step photos. Here are the finished pages that I made using this kit.

First, some doodled floers using the pens + some Inktense pencils and a white Sharpie.

For my second page I used the pens, diluting and spreading the ink with water. I the Let's go stamp set - I love it so much!

Here I played with the feathers in the Project Art kit + some Dylusions Ink Spray and some little bits from the November add ons.

This page transformed a lot during the making...

And finally, just playing with some crazy doodling... :) It's not what I do best, but I really enjoy tring different things and experimenting... :)

Sweater weather!

The Cocoa Daisy October kit goes on sale for everyone on October 1st (if you are a subscriber you are able to buy the add ons before everyone else, starting the 28th).

Here are two of the layouts I created this month. For the first one I used one of the exclusive papers designed by our very own Stephanie Wheeler. I love it! I glued down one of the die cut tags from Amy Tangerine (found in the Cable knit add on) and applied some gesso over the tag and my background. I then added some blue paint, using an Inktense pencil. I also added some stamping to the background, using one of the cute little stamps.

My next layout contains 8 photos and that's sooo unusual for me! I'm pretty happy that I was able to make this work. :) The photos are from our visit to the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, earlier this year.

Do you see the three little hearts to the left? That's another one of the cute stamps this month!

30 days of lists

I decided to give "30 days of lists" a try and here is the cover of my little journal. I was very inspired by Kristin's beautiful kit and I used stamps from Cocoa Daisy to create my journal. I stamped using Archival Ink and then I added some Inktense Pencils (the watercolour-look) and some splatters of mist too (Maya Mist).

Here's my first list... I decided to write in Swedish, at least this first list. I may change my mind or mix the languages later on - we'll see... :) At first I found this first subject really hard. Nothing is really new this year, if I only think about ME. But when I realized I could look a bit further, and list things that are new around me - in my family - I finally came up with some new things.

 Translation:
* Tuva started daycare
* We all caught a bad stomach bug this winter
* I became an aunt to little Vide!
* Linus started fourth grade at a new school - Paulinska.
* Alva started first grade
* Linus and Alva have registred for saxophone and drama at Kulturskolan.

Well, the conclusion is that the most exciting new thing that has happened to ME this year, is that I caught a stomach bug. =) Perhaps I should set some more fun goals for 2014? =)

Project Art July...

The July Project Art kit from Cocoa Daisy contains a bottle of Liquitex Matte Medium, one sampler package Faber-Castell Textural Accents, a Maya Road Sunset Orange Pigment Ink ink pad, 2 library cards, 1 Maya Road kraft envelope, 1 Vintage seed packet (assorted design), four 5x7 pieces of muslin fabric, 1 sheet vintage German fairy tale book page, 2 sheets Gold Bond stamp sheets and various savings stamps... It's such a fun kit!

It has the perfect supplies to try out making a collaged background and that's what I did on my first page. I mostly used acrylic paint and the Inktense pencils from the June Project Art kit, to complete the page. See the Cocoa Daisy blog for details and lots of step-by-step photos.

For my second page I created a background using Inktense pencils and Dylusions Spray Ink. I then added bits and pieces from the Project Art kit, as well as from the other July kits.

My third page is a really simple page where I wrote down some thoughts about my love for music. Silly enough, I tend to forget that I love music... and I need to remind myself every now and then! I used Inktense pencils to colour and I used the Liquitex matte medium to glue the glitter down.

Art Journaling...

Summer so far is fun, crazy, lazy and then a bit crazy again... :) I am truly enjoying my time off, so very thankful for these weeks.

I have a couple of art journal pages to share today, made using the June Project Art kit from Cocoa Daisy. For more details and step-by-step photos, check out the Cocoa Daisy blog.

On this page I used some items from the main kit on a background created using the Inktense pencils that comes in the Project Art kit.

Also this background was made using the Inktense pencils. This time on top of gesso and some collaged bits from the Project Art kit.

These were made using the June kit... I promise that I'll be back soon with some pages made using the July Project Art kit! :)

It's been a long time...!

I can't believe I haven't been blogging for more than two weeks! It's not that I don't have anything to show you or tell you - there are lots of things I could have written about and I have several projects that are waiting to be posted. I just haven't had the time and the energy to sit down!

The last week of school (last week) was crazy with a whole bunch of different activities and we also managed to squeeze in a birthday party for Alva with her friends, this past weekend. I now have a little more than one week left, before I'll have 8 wonderful weeks off, and I can't wait....! (I just have a little too much that need to be finished during these last days... gaaah...)

Getting up this early every morning, travelling quite far to work, trying to balance work, family and also finding some time to be creative... isn't always easy. I haven't been painting for several weeks (months?) and I am so longing to pick up the paint brush again.

Ok, that wasn't entirely true, because I have been painting a little. In my journal! :) The main item in the June Project Art kit from Cocoa Daisy is a set of 12 Inktense pencils and I have had so much fun playing with them!

I have a post up at the Cocoa Daisy blog, showing some step-by-step photos of some of my pages. Here are a couple of examples...

You can read about the Inktense pencils here, on Derwent's page. I really love them!

I hope that it won't take another two weeks before you'll hear from me again! :)
