Top Ten Layouts 2011

Looking back is so much fun...! Here are my past blog posts with my favourite layouts from 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Many of my all time favourites are among them and I was surprised when looking back today, that there are so many of them that I still love. :)

I love all the texture and the techniques I combined here... acrylic paint, mists, polymer clay, fabric...

This Cocoa Daisy kit was fab - I love these colors together - and I'm quite happy with the heart I created.

I love the texture...

The dripping Glimmer Glam turned out fun!

I love using fabric...

Simple, simple... chalkboard mist, a little stitching and clear heat embossing...

I like the idea of writing the journaling on top of my hand print and the subject of my journaling is how I was using my hands to create, to keep myself occupied while waiting for the baby.

This was made after a sketch from Pencil Lines. I love the soft colors.

I don't create double pages very often, but I'm so happy with this one. :) It's a fab documentation of an ordinary day in my life, and I'm thanking Lisa for the challenge over at Cocoa Daisy that made me create this. :)

Some messy paint... green and blue = love. This was also made after a Pencil Lines sketch.

Tomorrow I'll be sharing my top 10 favourite non-layout projects from 2011 and then... I'm looking forward to a new creative 2012! :)

Tea and Cupcakes part 2

Here is a frame that I altered, using the Cocoa Daisy January kit - Tea and Cupcakes. I painted the frame with gesso and then with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam.

I used my sewing machine around the edges and used 3D-foam to separate the layers some. I love these clouds from the main kit!

And here's another layout about when Alva and I played with some watersoluble crayons. Her hands were so lovely after a while. :) In Swedish the word "färg" means both paint and color.

Tea and Cupcakes...!

The Cocoa Daisy January kit goes on sale on January 1st. It's called "Tea and Cupcakes" and it's filled with warm and yummy and wonderful colors...!

Here are two of my layouts this month. Doesn't that face make you wonder what she is thinking...? :)

The Flair is from the add on "Whipped Cream and Sprinkles", just like the cool arrow from Studio Calico - love them!

This photo was taken the very first time Alva and Linus met their little sister. She was 10 days old and we were finally able to leave the hospital. It was magical, and completely scary at the same time. :)

I added some stitching and colored with Prismacolor pencils.

LilyBee Designs hos Scrapgalen!

Journal...

I just wanted to post a drawing from my journal... just playing a while ago... It's funny how you see things a lot better when the image is up on the screen like this. Like the fact that the eyes are totally different sizes and shapes... but it doesn't matter. It's just play. :)

Kolla in all info här.

Pencil Lines sketch 263

This week the sketch is based upon Sue's wonderful layout. Check it out here!

Here's my layout... about those blue eyes... :)

Another owl...

Rather than finishing one of the owls that are waiting for my next move... I painted another one... :) It's a small one, the canvas is 4x5 inches.

The background looked like this before I started my owl.

And this is the finished painting. Of course heavily inspired by Juliette Crane and the How to paint an owl class. I really like this little one. :)

More drawing...

These aren't finished... and I'll have to put them aside now to work on some other fun things... ;)  ...but I'm really enjoying this, even though I don't really know what I'm doing! :) But I'm doing my best to follow the advice of my teacher and to "trust the mess"... I've used prismacolors and inktense pencils so far. I LOVE the Inktense pencils...

I've been painting some owls...

I know I've told you before... an online class addict... that's what I am these days. ;) Recently, I've been taking an online class with Juliette Crane - How to paint an owl. A fabulous name for a class, isn't it?! The class even has it's own song... so amazing. :)

I really love Juliette's work and it was lots of fun to get to know her process and to paint some owls! I also know I have told you before that I don't have enough time! =) Thus, none of my owls are finished... But I really hope to continue working on them really soon. Here are some in-progress-photos of one of them. I believe he is my favourite, so far. I'm going to do a lot more work on the background and then we'll see what happens. Juliette often starts all over if things doesn't feel right. I'm not sure I could do that, not even if I wasn't happy with this little one in the end... :)

For this one I've used acrylic paint, pastels and a black Faber-Castell PITT pen.

(These images are posted with the permission of the wonderful Juliette Crane.)
