Sweater weather!

The Cocoa Daisy October kit goes on sale for everyone on October 1st (if you are a subscriber you are able to buy the add ons before everyone else, starting the 28th).

Here are two of the layouts I created this month. For the first one I used one of the exclusive papers designed by our very own Stephanie Wheeler. I love it! I glued down one of the die cut tags from Amy Tangerine (found in the Cable knit add on) and applied some gesso over the tag and my background. I then added some blue paint, using an Inktense pencil. I also added some stamping to the background, using one of the cute little stamps.

My next layout contains 8 photos and that's sooo unusual for me! I'm pretty happy that I was able to make this work. :) The photos are from our visit to the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, earlier this year.

Do you see the three little hearts to the left? That's another one of the cute stamps this month!

Sweater Weather...

Tomorrow is the reveal of the Cocoa Daisy October kit - Sweater Weather!

And here are some sneaks of what I've created... :)

Tuva

I created this layout for Pyssloteket and you can find more info about all the supplies in the Pyssloteket blog.

I was looking at other summer photos the other day and ouch... it doesn't matter that it was a long and fabulous summer and that it was so much better than I dared to hope for, I still want more! :)

No black or white...

The assignment for the third round of the scrap battle tournament was a tough one - create something colourful and NO black or white allowed. Black and white are fabulous colours for contrast and it was really hard to stay away from using them.

I am very happy with my layout, even if I didn't make it to the next round. Katarina created a fabulous, gorgeous, colourful layout and I wish her the very best in the upcoming rounds of the tournament!

I know the dots on the green paper and the stars on the yellow paper look white in this photo, but they're really tone on tone patterns, light green and light yellow. It would be interesting to add the dates of when these papers got into my hands... I was digging deep into my old stuff to find the right papers! =)

I have mixed feelings about my mixed media piece for the same challenge. =) I am practicing and learning all the time and I actually have this "wow-feeling" of having learned something important about what I like and not like and that feeling hit me shortly after having finished this painting. Everything I create takes me one small step forward I guess. :)

Huge congrats to Elina who is moving on to the next round with her colourful mixed media piece - and good luck in the next round! :)

September Project Art kit

The September Project Art kit from Cocoa Daisy contained a set of wonderful, creamy Gelatos in yellow and orange and a "Gelatos tool kit" with several fun and useful tools that can be used not only for the Gelatos, but that I am sure I will use for other projects and with other types of paints too! Check out my blog post with some step-by-step photos and a whole bunch of tips and tricks on how to use the Gelatos.

Here are a couple of the pages that I created this month...

I do this to relax...

...and because it's fun, and because I love that I sometimes create something that someone else will be happy to have a look at in the future... but mostly I do this for ME, because I enjoy it so much.

This was my layout for the second challenge during the European Scrap Battle. I was very happy to move on to round 3 but I'm up against two crazy fab scrappers (in the layout and the mixed media categories), so this next round will be a tough one! :)

On the layout below I mostly used papers from a few different Cocoa Daisy kits. I heat embossed the frame, using Silver Glitter Zing. I also heat embossed the arrow decos, using White Zing. I used my sewing machine a lot and I splattered some mist over the cardstock.

Freedom

Here's a canvas that I created for the European Scrap Battle. I used lots of acrylic paint but also pen, string, gel medium, fabric, ribbons, mist, Glimmer Glam, alcohol ink... The black spots are embossing powder, black UTEE.

Ölands raukar...

We had a wonderful vacation in the middle of August and this is one of the many photos I took when visiting a special place along the coast of the island where we were staying, where the softer species of rocks have eroded, while the harder ones are left, creating sort of a labyrinth of stone formations.

All the supplies I used are available at Pyssloteket. I splattered some Glimmer Glam over my background and used beautiful papers from My Mind's Eye. See the full list of supplies in the Pyssloteket blog.

30 days of lists

I decided to give "30 days of lists" a try and here is the cover of my little journal. I was very inspired by Kristin's beautiful kit and I used stamps from Cocoa Daisy to create my journal. I stamped using Archival Ink and then I added some Inktense Pencils (the watercolour-look) and some splatters of mist too (Maya Mist).

Here's my first list... I decided to write in Swedish, at least this first list. I may change my mind or mix the languages later on - we'll see... :) At first I found this first subject really hard. Nothing is really new this year, if I only think about ME. But when I realized I could look a bit further, and list things that are new around me - in my family - I finally came up with some new things.

 Translation:
* Tuva started daycare
* We all caught a bad stomach bug this winter
* I became an aunt to little Vide!
* Linus started fourth grade at a new school - Paulinska.
* Alva started first grade
* Linus and Alva have registred for saxophone and drama at Kulturskolan.

Well, the conclusion is that the most exciting new thing that has happened to ME this year, is that I caught a stomach bug. =) Perhaps I should set some more fun goals for 2014? =)

Art Journaling...

Here are a couple of more pages that I made using the August Project Art kit from Cocoa Daisy, together with some supplies from the main kits and add ons too.

Here I glued down strips of patterned paper, painted with Distress Paints and added some gesso using a stencil, and then filled my page with little bits and pieces from the kits and wrote my journaling - some of my thoughts about the upcoming autumn.

And this page is a little pep-talk to myself where I wrote "I can!" all over my page. I used Distress Paints, gesso and some mist to create the background.

The European Scrap Battle

I haven't been taking part in any kind of competition or challenge for quite some time now, but I couldn't resist signing up for the European Scrap Battle. :)

Round 1 in the layout category was a challenge to be inspired by the colours and style of The Scrap and Pearl Event blog and here's the layout I created:

Lots of gesso, mist, acrylic ink and paint and also embossing enamel and glimmer glam...

It was fun and I was very happy to move on to round 2 but I am feeling a bit nervous about "the battle" that now begins! :)
